When I think back to the first time I compared myself to other girls I was maybe 12 or 13. I saw the popular girl in school wearing white pants that were very see through. She was wearing thong underwear and I had no idea why she would want underwear up her butt but she was strutting her shit and all the boys were flocking all over her. I wanted to be her. When I went home I looked in the mirror and convinced myself nobody would ever want me because I didn't look like her. My thighs were far too thick to fit in pants like hers. As I was looking at my thick thighs I noticed my first stretch marks on my inner thigh. At that moment my view on myself shattered thinking I was the most disgusting person on earth. Nobody would ever love someone with big thighs and stretch marks. I sat in silence crying with all my love for myself gone within moments.
It took me until I was in my mid 30's to stop caring about my "flaws". I'm almost 42 and now in my
FUCK YOU, THIS IS ME phase, I don't give a shit what anyone thinks, and IT FEELS SOOOO GOOD!!
