How much does it cost?
This is a question I get all the time... then the next question is "Why does it cost so much?" Let's go over it all.
When you feel like you really need or want something, no matter the cost, if you want it, you will make it happen. Getting your hair done at the best salon, going to the nail salon 1-2 times a month, getting massages, buying a new phone, getting coffee at Starbucks every day, going out to lunch or dinner... so many things we know can be pricey, but we want it bad enough we do it. At least that is what I live by.
I was working a regular 9-5 job. It was boring and I wasn't making enough money to support my family, so I took a huge leap and invested around $10,000+ to learn how to run a successful boudoir business. It was scary but it's what I wanted so I made it happen. I made payments, I worked hard and am now providing the best boudoir service for you.
I know that doesn't answer the big question but I'm just getting started. Boudoir isn't just a photoshoot, it's an experience, it can be touchy, it can be damaging if not done right, it can be a huge life change, it can be a fun date night, it can be a milestone achievement, it can change your whole opinion of yourself, it can help you except your body and unique features and so much more. It's not just a point, shoot and done type of photoshoot. We get to know each other and generally you are in your most vulnerable state with a stranger pretty quickly. If you feel like "cheap" is the way to go, be my guest. The saying " you get what you pay for" is a huge factor with a boudoir photographer. Your body needs to be respected! That alone is worth the price tag in my opinion. You are always in good hands with me. The countless hours I spend messaging, email, phone calls, studio meetings, lingerie fittings, and consults with each client is several hours before we even start with the photoshoot.
The past 7 years I have done hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of photoshoots. I have so much experience behind the camera that no matter your body type, I've got you. No matter any part of your body you would rather hide, I've got you. No matter your age (over 18), I've got you. When you walk through my doors there is zero judgement about you. You will always have full privacy with me. Let's not leave out the trust factor. If there are red flags with a boudoir photographer and you are not sure, but they are cheap, again you'll get what you pay for.
Let's talk about camera gear. I'm sure you or someone you know has a camera, but do they know how to use it? Yes, it seems like it's just point and shoot right? If this was the case, everyone would be doing what I do. Just my camera alone is $3000. That doesn't include my $1200 lens, $900 lens, $2800 lens, $1500 lens, $300 memory cards, hard drives, prints, products and that's just scratching the surface. That doesn't include the insurance I have to have just in case. Just to learn my camera, it has taken me years to perfect the shot straight from the camera. Lighting, the price for my computer, editing programs, subscriptions Plus, all my props, paying my hair and makeup girls, marketing, bookkeeper, taxes, retirement, health insurance... that all well exceeds my studio rent every month. The list goes on and on and on, but I Love It!! Anyone that owns a business can fully understand. Let's not leave out my time... by the end of the day, 35% taxes, retirement, insurance and everything else I've listed I end up walking away with around 25% revenue. It's not as much as you think.
